.si passes 450,000 domains as the rush settles into a steady pace

.si crossed 450,000 registered domains on October 25. Getting there from 400,000 took almost two weeks, and new registrations have cooled to about 2,500 a day, which is still more than most months brought before the boom.

.si passed 450,000 registered domains on October 25, and as of today the registry counts 451,954.

Three weeks ago that number would have sounded far-fetched. .si spent more than 30 years getting to 200,000, a mark it only reached in late September. Then it took off. It hit 300,000 on October 5 and was past 400,000 by October 14, which we wrote about at the time, and while those 100,000 names arrived in just nine days, the 50,000 after them took almost two weeks.

A slower, steadier climb

October 5 still holds the record, with 21,756 new .si names in a single day. By mid-month daily registrations were down to around 7,000. Since October 21 they've stayed between 2,100 and 2,900 a day, and after subtracting names that lapse, the total has grown by roughly 2,500 a day.

That only looks slow next to early October. In the first eight months of 2026, .si grew by somewhere between 1,100 and 5,200 names a month. Now it does that in a day or two. At this pace, 500,000 arrives in mid-November.

Who's selling it

The registry lists 103 accredited registrars as of October 25, one more than three days earlier. GoDaddy joined on October 9, one of eleven newcomers since late September, as we covered when it happened. Gname started selling .si on October 23 for $23.55 a year, about double what Atom and Spaceship charge, and we compared the prices the same day.

Our .si statistics page tracks the count, the daily registrations and every registrar on the list. It updates several times a day.

What all those names are worth

More registrations mean more names coming up for sale. The .si sales we track passed $2 million on October 24, and half of that money came from just 48 sales of $10,000 or more, mostly short dictionary words, AI terms, place names and two-character names. The median sale was $355. The full breakdown has the top ten and where each one sold.

So before you register a name, or put a price on one you already own, run it through our free .si appraisal. It compares the name with real .si sales, checks how many other extensions already have it and gives you a range. Tick Private appraisal if you'd rather the name stayed off our public lists.
