How we estimate .si domain value
Every estimate comes from the same model: what the name says, how the market treats the same word in other extensions, and what comparable .si domains actually sold for. Here is exactly what goes in — and what doesn't.
The six inputs
Each estimate runs these steps in order. The report page shows the factors that moved the number, with their effect.
-
01
Read the name
Length, real English words, spelling, hyphens and digits. Short, clean, one-word names start higher.
-
02
Superintelligence fit
Does the name describe an AI capability or product? “vectorizer.si” reads as a tool; a random string does not.
-
03
Scan 268 extensions
How many other extensions already have the same name registered, and whether the sites on key ones like .com and .ai are in use, parked or for sale. More registrations means more proven demand for the word.
-
04
.com and .ai sales
Sales of the same and similar words in .com, .ai and other extensions show what the word is worth to buyers. We use them for calibration and never publish them.
-
05
Comparable .si sales
Sales of similar length, keyword and category set the price level. Auction results count as wholesale: a $500 auction counts like a $1,000 buy-now sale.
-
06
Range and confidence
We combine everything into a low, mid and high estimate, plus a confidence level based on how many comparables we found.
A range, not just a number
Thin markets are hard to price. Every report shows a low, mid and high estimate. The range widens when there are few comparable sales, and narrows as more deals come in.
Where the data comes from
- Marketplace sales — public sales from marketplaces and domain sale trackers such as NameBio, plus closed auctions.
- Seller and buyer reports — sales people send us, reviewed before they appear in the sales history.
- .com and .ai data — sales of the same words in the two extensions buyers compare .si against.
- Registration data — which of 268 tracked extensions have the name registered, checked again at least once a day.
What doesn't affect an estimate
How accurate are the estimates?
They are a starting point, not an appraisal. Accuracy depends on how many comparable .si sales exist — that is why every report shows a range and a confidence level. Treat a low-confidence estimate as a rough guide.
Why would a .si domain be valuable?
.si reads as “superintelligence”, which makes it a natural fit for AI products — similar to how .ai became the default for AI companies. Our estimates rely on actual sales, though, not on the story.
Do featured listings get higher estimates?
No. Promotion only changes where a listing appears. Every name goes through the same model, and the model never sees the asking price or who owns the name.
Where does the sales data come from?
Public marketplace sales, domain sale trackers such as NameBio, closed auctions, and sales reported by sellers and buyers. We review each report before it appears in the sales history.
How do auction sales count?
Auctions are mostly investors buying from each other, so they run below what an end user pays on a buy-now listing. We count an auction result at about twice its price: a name that went for $500 at auction is treated like a $1,000 sale.
How do I report a sale?
Use “Report a sale” on the sales history page and include a link to the marketplace page or post if you have one. Every sale we add makes the estimates more accurate.
Why does my estimate differ from other appraisal tools?
Most tools are built for .com and price every extension the same way. We use .si-specific sales and compare against the same word in .com and .ai.
Can I remove my domain from the site?
Estimates are generated on request, but you can ask us to remove a listing or a sale you reported. Get in touch through the contact page.
Is domainworth.si free?
Estimates, sales history and share images are free. Listing a domain is free; featuring a listing is paid.
