GoDaddy, the biggest domain registrar in the world, is now on the .si registry's list of accredited registrars. It joined on October 9. It appears twice, as GoDaddy.com, LLC and GoDaddy.com LLC, and a third new entry, Mesh Digital Limited, also gives godaddy.com as its website.
GoDaddy didn't join alone. Eleven registrars were added between late September and October 20, more than in any full year back to 2020, as far as the archive goes.
What being on the list means
Register.si, the .si registry run by Arnes, accredits the companies that can register .si names directly. Its list of registrars is the official record of who they are.
Being accredited and selling .si are two different steps. Spaceship and Namecheap joined the list around early December 2025, and both started selling .si names on October 6, 2026, ten months later. So the listing tells you GoDaddy can now register .si names. It doesn't promise that .si is in GoDaddy's search for every customer today.
GoDaddy hasn't given a date. On September 11, someone on X asked whether GoDaddy plans to let customers everywhere register .si names. James Iles, who works on domains, marketing and community at GoDaddy, answered three days later:

Less than four weeks after that reply, on October 9, GoDaddy was on the registry's list. Accreditation is the step that has to come first, which is why it looks like .si is on its way to GoDaddy.
Who else joined since late September
Since late September, the list added:
- GoDaddy, on October 9, as GoDaddy.com, LLC and GoDaddy.com LLC, plus Mesh Digital Limited, which lists godaddy.com as its website
- Atom, the marketplace where the daily .si auctions run, now an accredited registrar too
- Hostinger (HOSTINGER operations, UAB)
- Realtime Register B.V.
- Docky (GrepApps Technology Inc.)
- Edomains
- Costrar EOOD
- Domain Trust Group EOOD
- Tremplin Numerique
Backorder OÜ, which joined earlier in the year, now appears as Backorder.com.
Earlier in the .si wave
The past few weeks were the peak, but registrars had been signing up all year:
- Spaceship and Namecheap joined around early December 2025, and started selling .si names on October 6, 2026
- DomainName.com, Inc. joined in winter 2026
- Name.com, NicNames and Backorder OÜ joined in spring 2026
- OpusDNS and Domenca joined in summer 2026
The list had been shrinking
For most of 2025 the .si registry had about 85 accredited registrars, down from 95 in September 2020. The ones leaving were mostly small Slovenian companies: Optiweb, WebSvet, Domenikana and Starfiniti in early 2025, then DOMENAR.net, TTS Ideja, MR2 and Webtasy in 2026.
The count was 89 in late September and 100 by October 20. The registry's homepage now says 102. The new arrivals are almost all from outside Slovenia, and GoDaddy, Namecheap and Hostinger are among the biggest registrars anywhere. That fits the demand: the registry counted 438,384 .si domains on October 20, with 46,066 of them registered in the month before. We wrote about the climb past 400,000 names.

How we know the dates
We read the registry's list every day, since October 20, 2026. For the time before that, we compared the Web Archive's 43 copies of the same page since September 2020. When a registrar shows up between two copies, we only know roughly when it joined, which is why most of the dates above are approximate. The day a registrar starts selling .si isn't on the list at all, so we note those dates ourselves when they happen.
