On October 17, Spaceship published a breakdown of .si on SellerHub, its domain marketplace. Public sale reports skew toward the big ones, because nobody posts a $300 sale on X. SellerHub's figures cover every completed .si sale on the platform, small ones included, and they put the typical .si sale well below the numbers that make the rounds.
Read the post on XAs promised. Let's take a closer look at .si on SellerHub.
Listings grew 33 times in two weeks
From the week of September 17 to the week of October 1, the number of .si names listed on SellerHub grew more than 33 times. Sales grew almost 17 times over the same stretch. The week of October 8 to 14 looked a lot like the one before it, with about as many new listings and slightly fewer sales. That fits the registry count, which passed 400,000 .si domains on October 14. Supply is still arriving fast.
What sellers ask, and what buyers pay
Here is how SellerHub's .si listings are priced, next to what the completed sales came to:
- Under $1,000: 6% of listings, 46% of sales
- $1,000 to $4,999: 21% of listings, 34% of sales
- $5,000 to $24,999: 28% of listings, 18% of sales
- $25,000 to $49,999: 10% of listings, 1% of sales
- $50,000 and up: 10% of listings, 1% of sales
- No price (make an offer or lease-to-own): 25% of listings
Almost half the listings ask $5,000 or more. One sale in five reached that. Only 6% of listings are priced under $1,000, and that band produced 46% of the sales. Plenty of sellers are pricing off the $50,000 headlines, while four in five buyers spent less than $5,000.
Our own records lean the other way. Of the 158 non-auction .si sales we've logged since September 17, 30% were $5,000 or more, against 20% on SellerHub. Big sales get announced and $400 ones mostly don't, so any list built from public reports, ours included, makes the typical .si name look pricier than it is. For the middle of the market, SellerHub's numbers are the better guide.
In short: most .si sales on SellerHub were under $1,000, and almost all the rest were under $5,000.
Buy-now wins
Seven in ten SellerHub .si listings have a buy-now price: 32% pair it with make-an-offer, 23% are buy-now only and 15% add lease-to-own on top. Another 25% only take offers. Yet 88% of completed sales went through buy-now. Someone who wants a name this week wants a price they can click, and the offer-only quarter of the supply accounts for 12% of sales at most.
Half the sales came through checkout links
Checkout links brought in 49% of completed .si sales on SellerHub, ahead of search on Spaceship and on Namecheap. Those are the direct purchase links sellers hand out themselves, in a post, a message or on a landing page. Half the buyers arrived because a seller put the name in front of them.
The top ten, and the $84K sale
Spaceship says its ten biggest .si sales run from just under $20,000 to $84,000, with four at $50,000 or more, and that most of them are short dictionary words with a clear commercial or tech use, plus a few broader brandables.
The $84,000 matches chain.si, reported on October 17 at exactly that price and the largest .si sale in our records. No marketplace was named. Spaceship's figure suggests it went through SellerHub. The only other confirmed Spaceship sale we have at $50,000 or more is staffing.si, on October 10. If chain.si is the $84K sale, two of SellerHub's four biggest .si deals haven't been made public.
One more number falls out of the breakdown. If four sales make up about 1% of SellerHub's .si sales, the platform has completed somewhere between 270 and 800 of them. Our sales history, which collects .si sales from every marketplace we can find, holds 426.
Sales we recorded this week
We logged 103 .si sales from October 14 to 17. Of those, 74 were auctions with a median of $85, and the other 29 had a median of $4,300. Seven reached $10,000 or more:
- chain.si: $84,000 (October 17, reported, marketplace not named)
- openrouter.si: $50,000 (Atom, October 17, reported)
- rebellion.si: $28,700 (private sale, October 15, reported)
- southkorea.si: $20,000 (Spaceship, October 14)
- chief.si: $20,000 (October 16, reported)
- proxy.si: $12,500 (fruits.co, October 16)
- philippines.si: $10,000 (Spaceship, October 14)
Below that, confirmed sales included inspect.si for $8,289 and receptionist.si for $6,189 on DomainExchange.si, uap.si for $7,500 and proximal.si for $5,000 on Spaceship, ivo.si for $7,200 on fruits.co and gx.si for $5,655 on Sedo.
Atom's auctions on October 17 show the other end. Thirteen .si names closed with a winner. Reward.si drew 39 bids and sold for $7,600, and the other twelve went for $20 to $250.
If you're selling a .si name
Give it a buy-now price, since 88% of SellerHub's .si sales were buy-now and an offer-only listing asks the buyer to open a negotiation. Price it where .si names sell. Four in five SellerHub sales were under $5,000, and the five-figure deals went to short words with an obvious use, so a two-word brandable with a $15,000 tag is in for a long wait. Then send the checkout link to people yourself. Half of SellerHub's .si buyers came that way. Our guide to pricing a .si domain shows how to find comparable sales, and every appraisal report on this site gives a range for your name.
